Even before embarking on the project, I had visited Fabijoniškės out of sheer curiosity and was struck by the palpable melancholy and depression that permeated the place. It was this very atmosphere that inspired me to dedicate my project to its exploration. The Soviet architecture, coupled with the cold, snowy weather devoid of sunlight, effectively conveys this prevailing sentiment.

Throughout the project, my aim was to capture this melancholy in various facets, documenting the ambiance both during the day and night. Alternating between photos taken on sunny days and those on gloomier ones adds layers to the visual narrative, emphasizing the impact of weather on the perception of space. Given that Fabijoniskes is a residential area, it becomes a backdrop for human elements, with occasional captures of people and cars contributing to the visual storytelling. This project, therefore, seeks to immerse the viewer in the distinctive melancholy of Fabijoniškės, exploring the interplay between architecture, weather, and everyday life.
